Green Degrees Take Center Stage

Recent news of unemployment and job-loss may be making headlines but for those students looking to get a major jump on new industries that will soon be seeing big openings and even bigger salaries, it’s time to go green! The Obama administration has made a firm commitment to shifting our country toward a more green, eco-friendly future and with that promise has come a wealth of new job potential. Already plans are underway to see that those professionals and industries working towards a greener tomorrow are rewarded.

Getting a jump on this emerging industry with schools online is easier than it seems. Many colleges and degree programs are now offering new degrees that specialize in these kinds of fields. Schools all over the country are now offering Bachelor’s of Science degrees such as the “Renewable Energy Degree”. Specifically, these degrees can be coupled with any number of specialties to allow for an immediate foot-in-the-door for those interested in working in renewable energy.

The industry surrounding renewable energy is growing rapidly and career positions are opening up in fields such as Sales, Engineering and Installation. Virtually any aspect of the energy field can now be modified and directed toward greener, renewable energy sources.

As recently as 2009, the Department of Energy was pledging up to $366 million dollars toward seeking out and developing new methods of energy. Couple those figures with the fact that the Department of Energy is currently taking aggressive measures to expand the use of Solar Energy to reach current grid parity within the United States by 2015 and it’s easy to see why this industry is booming!

Many of these degrees are now being offered through convenient online colleges and green degree programs that can earn you an accredited degree online and be accessed through the convenience of your own home. These kinds of programs exemplify the critical need for green professionals armed with modern green degrees such as the Renewable Energy degree from colleges online. For those seeking the wave of the future, there has never been a better opportunity than working toward an advanced degree in green energy.

green energy really is the way to go big for a career — if you have the interest and desire — there’s a ton of money just waiting to be had by people that can answer that call — not my thing :(
