The recently released 2009 Sloan Survey of Online Learning indicated that enrollment in online education courses increased by 17 percent last year. With an online degree program, many more people find that they can now learn from the comfort of their own computer. This includes women who are or hope to become entrepreneurs.
One new online education program in particular aims to both help female entrepreneurs and encourage them to utilize social media in their companies. Ladies Who Launch have a new “Expert Mentors Series” that will be accessible via their website. Here, women can participate in online seminars and if they choose, can take advantage of weekly offerings that further present topics relevant to entrepreneurship.
This online education program may help many women, according to the company’s chief executive officer, Traci Long. Ladies Who Launch chose to take their courses online in order to fulfill their “mission of making entrepreneurship accessible to every woman worldwide,” Long explained.
Women can gain support from one another through the related online network as well as participate in seminars.
In addition to these types of online programs, many online colleges are offering business bachelors and masters degrees aimed at helping entrepreneurs gain the skills they need to be successful in business. Participating in an online program may not only benefit women, but many different adults at different stages in their lives. Some appreciate the flexibility that an online degree can offer, while others often enjoy studying anywhere at any time.
