A nursing degree is becoming easier to attain as more colleges around the country are adding the programs and offering diplomas in the field.
Stevens-Henager College, an accredited institution where students can receive on-campus and online education, will now be offering an associate degree in nursing at its Salt Lake City, Ogden and Logan, Utah-based campuses. The college is also offering countless online nursing programs available for prospective students.
Nursing remains one of the most consistent fields in today’s job market. The occupation is expected to add 581,500 new jobs, which is the largest for any profession.
Working adults who are looking for a job change or are thinking about a career as a registered nurse (RN) will find there are many nursing school options. And students who enroll in accredited nursing schools may be able to earn a degree in as little as 15 months. After that, they are allowed to sit for the licensing exam.
According to a study conducted by NursingSchool.org, there are 5.5 million nurses and nurses aides in the workforce. People in search of a steady career can depend on the field, which is known for its high pay and flexible hours.

Hello Michael. Credit transfers depend on both the school you are currently attending and the school you plan to attend. You’ll need to speak with an advisor at each school to see what credits may or may not transfer.

Hi Ryan. There is no “right” or “wrong” way to apply for financial aid or school. Many financial aid forms do ask students to identify where they will be attending school however forms like the FAFSA allow students to note more than one school in case they do not yet know where they’ll be attending. Hello Bertie, federal financial aid usually does not have age restrictions so I would recommend filing your FAFSA if you decide to get your nursing degree. Age restrictions on scholarships and grants vary so look for ones you may be eligible for and check if they have age requirements before applying.
