MBA Degree Opens Doors to Many Careers

Individuals who don’t aspire to become the CEO of a major company need not rule out an MBA degree from their higher education plans. In fact, many individuals who pursue MBA degrees find that they develop highly marketable skills through their programs which can be applied to a wide range of jobs.

For instance, New Vision Online recently reported on an MBA degree holder, Joe Amooti Kazinduka, who had eschewed a traditional Wall Street career to be the finance manager for the American Cancer Society – a nonprofit government organization (NGO).

Of his MBA degree, Kazinduka said, “I believe I made strategic academic decisions that prepared me for my current and many of the other jobs I have held.” In other words, making the decision to obtain higher qualifications may open more career doors and help individuals learn more about themselves and the kind of work environment that they prefer.

Working towards an MBA degree need not be completed through a traditional on-campus program only. In fact, many prospective students find that schools online offer more flexible study options that better suit their lifestyles and needs.

I already have my bachelors degree and work for a large corporation. I have been trying for a promotion and am qualified for the job, but it seems to me that a bachelors degree is no longer enough. It is getting more and more important to have an MBA in order to move to the top?

I’ve been interested in getting a MBA since I started college. I’ve heard a lot from my friends who are in the business college. I’ve always wanted to get involved in corporate America and really make a difference for the company I work for and our customers. I love articles like this because I’d never considered taking the online option to work on my degree.

Hi Clancy. That’s a great question. Yes some grants are funded specifically for certain subjects. For master’s degrees you might want to consider research assistantships which is similar to work-study but is instead you get to work on research with a professor. Best of luck!
