A new report from Research and Markets highlights the fact that more people find online education to be a more convenient method to achieve their bachelors degree or masters degree.
The organization surveyed online education providers to learn about their enrollment, revenue, financial aid programs and the demographics of individuals interested in online degree programs. Over 55 percent of the institutions surveyed reported an increase in enrollment due to the sluggish economy. Only around 5 percent of schools online felt that they experienced decreased enrollment figures.
That’s encouraging news for individuals who are considering enrolling in schools online. With more students flocking to such courses, more materials will become available to online learners. In addition, there may be greater virtual networking opportunities for those who choose online education.
Even those who are still working full- or part-time can take advantage of programs offered by schools online. Since there is no rigid class schedule, students can access their courses on their own time and learn when it is most convenient. Being able to learn via the internet means that individuals can study anywhere at any time, which is good news for busy parents or frequent travelers.
