Western New England college of law

Western New England college of law This college is a one of kind in the United States, or at least the first to bring students a fully online degree in estate planning or elder law. The learning platform is synchronous, which means that the programs are online but in real time so this is not a program that one can take at ones own leisure, rather this is a program that allows students’ throughout the world via the Internet to tune in to live classes. Also, this school allows both ground and online learning of the same classes so a lot of flexibility makes this school one of my favorites.  The tuition is more expensive then I have seen, but again, this is really a one of a kind program. Tuition is almost $1,300 per credit hour and there are other fees that are extra as well.  Just to clarify one must have a JD degree from a law school accredited by the ABA in order to graduate.

Florida tech online

Florida tech online

With streaming videos and MP3 lectures Florida Tech is up to date and current with technology and I feel that younger students will enjoy the schools’ programs because students of today are very familiar with streaming videos and podcasts etc.

Many new high school graduates are on the go everyday and I think that this generation is the fast generation because there are so many resources at our disposal and multi-tasking is very mainstream so much in fact that if you are not keeping up with technology you really will be left in the dark.

I don’t think that brick and mortar campuses will ever be a thing of the past, but I do believe that if there are some schools out there that have been hesitant to develop online curricular then those schools will see a huge drop in enrollment as online college has been accepted more and more, and this will not change. Also, many parents love it to because then they get to have their child remain in their hometown and still go to an out of state school and I have yet to see one college charge more because of the student being out of state.

Imagine this- you can pause and rewind class lectures and really work at your own pace. I love this concept because the one thing that I never liked about online classes was the fact that I never got to see the teacher and his or her presentations. This gives students more of the feel that they are in a lecture hall learning as if in class, but without the commute. I especially liked this school because they have AA degrees in Liberal Arts and Business administration and the AA degrees can be finished in as quickly as 18 months.

gotomedschool.com online

Now more and more with the continuing rise in gas prices students’ are looking to the web to finish their studies. I think that online learning is main stream and very much acceptable especially nowadays, since our society is on the go all the time. Most students’ want instant gratification and are attached at the hip to a computer or any sort of gadget that can get them online even their cell phones. Myself include have become very dependant on the Internet to stay in tune with society today. Sometimes I find myself literally having some sort of withdrawal until I check my emails, and stay in touch with friends. Long gone for me are the days of reading a newspaper. I grab some coffee and snuggle up to the computer on Sunday mornings instead of getting the paper from the coffee shop. Check out gotomedschool.com if you have finished pre-med classes and want to get the rest of your courses out of the way then this is a great way to start. This site even has medical school administration programs online too.

Home inspection program online

Home inspection program online.

Looking for something to take online that is not degree granting, but more career focused, then the home inspection program is right for you? Allied business school offers a certificate program in home inspection. This course has 13 comprehensive lessons that prepare students to be able to pass the state licensure tests to become a home inspector.

A licensed home inspector can make a good living depending on the state pay ranges are $45,000-$65,000 per year. Despite the bad housing market right now, home inspection is in demand and always will be. A home inspection is vital to protect one’s asset so it will always be a need in the housing industry.

Home inspection is needed many times in order for buyer’s to buy a home, or most importantly for lender’s to find out about the investment into the home that they are making. A good home inspection provides buyers peace of mind that if something is wrong with a house then a home inspector is money well spent. Nothing like buying a home without an inspection only to find what you have bought is now a money pit because you failed to have the house looked at by a professional.

DeVry Online

The school I am reviewing today is called DeVry.

I love DeVry because of the programs that they offer. I am a technology major for my undergraduate and love embracing technology and learning new things. DeVry has a computers and electronic program that is very cutting-edge. I like it mainly because of the programs success rate.  89% of the graduates have received jobs in that field paying at least $35, 000 per year and this is a great salary for someone that only has an associate’s degree. Employer approved – DeVry works with industry leaders to ensure that the curriculum is that employers are looking for in today’s work force. This is a brilliant idea because any school can offer a degree program in anything, but to actually prepare the student for current job placement let’s DeVry stand out amongst the rest.

Career focused DeVry students have access to multiple robotics and engineering and design teams to help with the success of the program. Normally, I am not a big fan of Associate’s degrees because now with a lot of schools having accelerated programs many four year bachelor degrees can be finished in two year. This is a great program for those that want to go right out of high school to some what learn a skilled trade in order to start working right away.

Axia college

Axia college is the college that will be profiled today

This is a great program online for AA degree students. Login and participate in newgroups for a minimum of three days per week. The format is similar to that of the parent company University of Phoenix. Class sizes do not exceed 20. Students take two classes at a time with each course lasting. Balanced learning allows students to read lectures about one class while doing a project for the other.

The delivery format of the class is through a Microsoft exchange web server so students can access class anywhere that they can find an Internet connection for the most part.

Admissions requirements- Typical students will be those that have less then 24 credits already. Also required is a high school diploma. For foreign students a Test of English as a Foreign Language may be required. There is no list of an age requirement, but I think that 18 is the minimum age requirement.

Programs offered. Axia offers programs in general studies, accounting and business as well as finance and hospitality. Also offered is an AA degree in Education and even Psychology. Most of these degrees transfer to the University of Phoenix to streamline right into their four year program.

Capella University

Capella University

Today in profiling a school I decided to look at the cost of tuition.  The cost per credit hour averaged about $310 for undergraduate. In reviewing other schools this is about the average for online instructions. For some reason online always cost more then the brick and mortar campuses. Also, the MBA program seems to cost more then any of the other Masters programs. I mean this is a dramatic difference in price with the MBA being $625 per credit hour with the MS degrees only being $405 per credit hour. As far as user-friendliness goes, this site has it all.

The web site is very interactive right from the beginning of the site with sample classes that shows the students what to expect as if they were taking the course themselves.  There are video clips from faculty, students, and even staff as to what to expect when attending Capella University.

If I were looking to pursue another online program I would definitely try this school and recommend it to anyone looking for a place to start. This web site is motivating and exciting and I hope this helps you decide for yourself what school to attend. For more information visit the following link

The University of Liverpool Online

The University of Liverpool

Live in the United States but always wanted to get a foreign degree?  Well, now you can. With the Internet students from the UK as well as 90 different countries can all take classes together online. This University if only for advanced degree students so one must be pursuing a masters degree in order to attend this school.   Admission requirements – One example of what is needed.  MBA degree requirementsBachelors degree from an accredited college or university or a degree from a college equivalent to a British Honours degree.  Two years working experience related to the degree program one should have practical background knowledge of business as aquired from working. For those that do not have English as a native tongue an English proficiency test must be taken. Each program has its own admissions requirements.

Class size classes do not have more than 18 people total. This allows more attention to each student’s individual needs. Basically, from what I have researched on this the online platform is similar to that of the US counterparts. However, I was disappointed that I was not able to find information of how the online program is delivered so I can’t really talk about that at all.

Program help is there for you from start to finish with 24/7 technical support

Kaplan University

Kaplan University

Kaplan University has more than 70 campus based schools located in 22 states. Kaplan has helped more than 3 million students succeed in achievement of their educational goals. Kaplan also has an online program and with the online program students will get personal attention and academic support as well as professional advice from faculty and staff that may help the student after degree completion.

At Kaplan online, students receive knowledge from faculty and students from all over the world not just from the town that the student is in.

The Internet allows many opportunities for Kaplan learners. The interactive seminars allow students to participate in sessions with classmates and instructors thereby, enriching the online learning experience. Online quizzes taken at your own pace allow students to not be pressured into hurrying for answers in order to complete a quiz in the short classroom time. Kaplan students will also receive one-on-one feedback each week from the instructor about assignments. =With the virtual student discussion boards students can learn from other students experiences and this makes the learning environment more diverse and fun for all. Also, the discussion boards allow students to get feedback from other student’s that can help with assignments and research ideas.

Web field trips. This allows students to research and document topics found on the Internet that pertain to the class that is currently being taken. A journal allows the student to then later share the research with other students in the class and also allows the student to quickly develop a research paper based off of the journal notes.

Kaplan has a degree program for almost anyone. I was impressed with how many different degree categories students can choose from. I like the fact that Kaplan not only has degree granting programs, but a large variety of continuing education certificates online. These programs will allow current students’ that are working an opportunity to be certified in the area in which they are working without having to take degree granting classes.
