Doing a grant proposal for a class? Here are some things that need to be considered:
Who or what organization is the recipient of this grant?
Set a goal:
Give a description to the grant reader as to what your goals are. Start out with The goal is to have ____ and then finish the sentence.
List the setting: Where is this action taking place that you need the funding for? What is the target population?
Develop a solution strategy.
Basically, where is the money going, and what do you hope to accomplish with this funding? What kinds of results are expected from this grant money?
Objective and assessments:
How are you going to prove that this project is working, or worked? What type of data will be presented?
Now that you are awarded the cash how do you tell if what you wanted worked?
Self-assessment: How do you as the grant recipient know if the project for which you were awarded is successful? Did you use the money correctly to teach students something?
Most importantly, review your objectives—were they met? If so, I would have to say that the organization that awarded the funding had faith in what you proposed and believed that it would help with the learning process at a school.
Most of what I write will be from my experience as an MAED student, and I hope to provide some insight on some things. A lot of times I will write about things that only apply if you are a teaching student, but I hope that I can help at least one student find some ideas on research issues while attending class.
