Advantages of taking classes online.
Online classes are wonderful for individuals that have accessibility issues with getting to class. What I mean by this, is that with a computer many physically challenged individuals can attend college courses and earn the degrees without wondering how to get to class and maybe the school that the disabled person has chosen does not have the best accessibility access. In today’s economy with gas prices online learning is becoming more main stream as more and more brick and mortar traditional colleges are developing online curricular to accommodate almost any student.
In the development of the new online classes many colleges are also shortening the class experience by focusing on one class at a time at an accelerated pace. Accelerated does not mean easier by any means, but it allows students the ability to focus on one class at a time for a short amount of time. As a former online student myself I appreciated only learning one class at a time. One class at a time allowed me to concentrate only on the class at hand and not worry about doing well in one class and maybe not so good in another. I think that online learning for me was less stressful because of the one class at a time approach.
Online classrooms have a global influence on them depending on what college the student is attending. For example University of Phoenix has a global management MBA online that is fantastic because the classroom is filled with students all over the world not just in the US. Getting a global perspective on time management or economics is fantastic and allows students to ‘think outside the box’. Do the classes at your own pace when you want for as long as you want. Self-paced classes are great because that cuts down on the stress level too. Now more and more online learning is conducive to everyday life, meaning that online is not just for degree programs anymore. In my state drivers can take a defensive driving course for a traffic accident ticket online instead of wasting a whole weekend day in a boring room staring at the wall. Also, for real estate professional the department has continuing education classes online too. This allows busy real estate workers to take the required license renewal classes without losing productivity by sitting in a classroom all day.
